The lake hotel is located in the city of Khiva in the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan. An integral part of Uzbekistan's history, the city is the first UNESCO World Heritage City of Central Asia. The city is organized as an open-air museum. From a distance, Khiva reminds of a sand castle town, with colorful houses and old minarets enclosed within the massive fortress walls. The design area is located on an area of 63000 m² on the main transportation axis of IchanKala, the center of the city of Khiva, which has been selected as the Capital of the Islamic World in 2024. The desire to use multiple functions together is one of the important criteria of building design, but it also requires the separation of usage scenarios. With the structure placed linearly between the building site and the road, the island is divided into two parts, thus paving the way for the separation of functions. The building is set back from the main axis from which it is approached, creating its own square.  The entrances from the center of the perimeter divide the square into two parts. The first square is a bus park and recreation area, while the second square hosts outdoor events. While the rooms facing the main approach axis host short-mid stays with city views, spacious suites and beach suites are located on the facade facing the lake. The panoramic elevator in the center of the building references the old minarets in the city and ensures that the lake view is not exclusive to the lake suites. In addition to the tourists who will visit the region, the lake hotel is not only the accommodation focus of the region but also the event focus with its different functions such as open and semi-open events, fairs, meetings and invitations, lake restaurant. The project has a construction area of 27000 m² and includes 50 beach suites and 210 hotel rooms and suites.
